Later this week, the tennis courts at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center will be buzzing with action as the OSAA tennis state championships take place in Beaverton.
But some Oregon athletes, including several from Lincoln High School, will miss out on the action because the tournament conflicts with the scheduled time for some International Baccalaureate test subjects. As a result, athletes are being forced to decide between competing for a tennis state championship or taking exams that could alter their educational trajectories.
