In the spring of 1985, Steve Woodside stepped into Ralph Miller’s office for his junior-year exit interview with the storied Oregon State basketball coach.
The 6-foot-9 Woodside had averaged 12.6 points and five rebounds for a Beavers team that started 14-1, then faded during Pacific-10 conference play, eventually losing to Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
