In the second throw of the girls javelin finals at the Nike Outdoor Nationals on Saturday, Central Catholic’s Kyeese Hollands received a big gasp from the crowd at Hayward Field.
A throw of 161 feet, six inches propelled her to the top of the standings and set a new personal best for the future Texas Tech Raider. And the crazy part is that it wasn’t even her best throw of the day. For her final throw, Hollands (already in first place) sent the javelin 164 feet, five inches to seal the win.
