A motorcycle rider died and the driver of car is was hospitalized after an accident in Portland’s Hazelwood neighborhood on Thursday.
Police responded to a report of a crash at about 5:45 p.m. June 22 at Southeast Stark Street and 135th Avenue. Officers arrived to find the motorcyclist dead at the scene and the driver of a car was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Police say that 26-year-old Adrian Calvillo-Trujillo was riding a black and red 2022 Suzuki GSX-R eastbound on Stark at a high rate of speed. A woman driving a white 2001 Acura TL was stopped northbound on 135th to turn westbound onto Stark when Calvillo-Trujillo struck the driver’s side of the car. Then the motorcycle rolled into a 2010 Ford Escape, which was parked and unoccupied.
Calvillo-Trujillo, who lived in Gresham, was the 29th traffic fatality in Portland this year, police said.
