The article about the new water treatment plant says it will now cost almost $2 billion, (“Portland water treatment plant costs balloon again; price tag nears $2B,” June 28). This is money spent to control a parasite that has killed no one and probably will never kill anyone because the strains detected are not harmful to humans.
