Oregon softball assistant coach Sydney Romero will earn more than her predecessor and the performance bonuses for the staff have increased.
Romero will earn $120,000 though June 2024, up from the $105,000 former assistant Nikki Udria-Ragin earned last season, and Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza will earn $50,000. Their salaries are fully guaranteed.
As of Monday afternoon, hitting coach Samantha Marder had yet to sign a new contract after her existing deal expired at the end of last month.
UO released the new contracts, which were each signed last month, in response to a public records request.
The softball staff’s performance bonuses have increased to $10,000 if Oregon appears in the NCAA Tournament, $10,000 for advancing to a Super Regional, $10,000 for making the Women’s College World Series and $15,000 for winning the national championship. That’s up from $4,000, $6,500, $7,500 and $10,000, respectively.
Assistants are also eligible for $10,000 for winning the Pac-12 regular season championship or $5,000 for finishing in second, with the same amounts applying to winning the conference tournament and runner-up, respectively. Those are up from $6,000 and $4,000 previously.
