After taking over the former Ex Novo Brewing about a month ago, Lazy Days Brewing will host its Grand Opening next week at each of its two Portland area locations. At its Beaverton location, the event kicks off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30pm on Thursday, February 1 from 4:00 – 8:00pm, with giveaways each hour. In Portland, the event take place on Friday, February 2 from 4:00 – 8:00pm, featuring brewery tours and giveaways.
Both locations will be sampling out the new Lazy Days Brewing beers, including a new English Dark Mild, merchandise and gift card giveaways, a the revealing of its new mug club.
“The holidays and the weather really stalled us for a bit,” says Ryan Still, co-owner and President of Lazy Days, “but we can’t wait any longer. We’re ready to re-introduce the public to the spaces, even if our permanent signage isn’t up or the paint isn’t dry. It’s time to show the community what we’re about – bringing people together for good beer, good food, and good times with their friends.”
The Grand Opening events will not only highlight Lazy Days’ new brand, but also act as a public send-off to Ex Novo Brewing at 7:00pm at each pub.
“We want to give thanks to Ex Novo for setting us up for success,” says Jake Elder, co-owner and Brewmaster at Lazy Days. “We’ll be inviting Ex Novo fans to join us in a special toast, celebrating the last 10 years. And hopefully you’ll see that we are responsibly carrying on their legacy.”
“It’s not a total goodbye to Ex Novo. We have a contract brewing agreement with Ex Novo so beer enthusiasts will continue to see fresh Ex Novo beers in our pubs and the NW market,” Still says. “But it’s time to fully lean into the Lazy Days brand, and so far, we know you’ll like what we’ve brewed, too.”
