Arriving at a “gentle” 45 percent ABV, this release proves that character and concentration of flavor do not arrive as a direct result of having a high alcohol content. In terms of its profile, Russell’s Reserve is a textbook Kentucky-style rye: fruit-forward and opulent, with a pleasant hint of subtle spice. There’s no need to mix this in cocktails, though it’s best to hold off on the ice when sipping neat.
