Silent Pool has created a ‘top secret’ ultra premium bottle of gin that is being kept under wraps until next spring.
“It’s top secret and it’s just a little teaser of something to come,” Silent Pool marketing manager Melissa Thorn told db.
“It’s an ultra premium bottle of gin that has been made with black juniper sourced on the mountains 1,000 feet up in the Himalayas. A team of people go up into the mountains and hand-pick it,” said Thorn, revealing that “the gin is also going to have some oud in it as well”.
“You might say it’s going to be quite a special bottle of gin,” she added, hinting that the new black juniper gin “will probably retail at about £250 per 70cl bottle”.
Thorn explained: “Our black juniper gin will only be available in a few very select places, but won’t be launched properly until spring 2022 so barely anyone will have glimpsed it yet”.
“It is really special and we are not ready to talk about it properly just yet, but I can tell you that very few people have seen it and that it will not be widely available,” said Thorn, highlighting that anyone getting the chance to see it, taste it, or find a bottle to buy in the future will be “very lucky indeed”.
The dark blue glass bottle has a round gem in its centre and has an embossed copper surround which contains the words: Soured from Bhutan. The bottle is presented in a cylindrical presentation case with subtle floral patterns as seen on its flagship bottles of Silent Pool gin being echoed on the glass of the bottle and its casing.
“It’s still a really big secret,” she whispered, pointing out that the Surrey-based distiller is “extremely proud of it. However, nobody outside of the company knows about it yet”.
