DIAMOND LAKE — We huddled against a chilly north wind as my daughter’s husband cast his worn and trout-tested ultra-light spinning outfit, propelling a hand-crafted yellow PowerBait glob downwind to land in a caldera of weeds.
Assured it reached the bottom, he laid it in a rod holder and turned to attend his wife’s setup.
