The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after investigators said a man in a pickup dropped off a man who was unresponsive outside a Vancouver hospital emergency room before speeding off early Friday.
The unresponsive man was pronounced dead at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, the sheriff’s office said. Officials said they were waiting to release the man’s name pending notification of his family. They didn’t say if or how he had been injured.
Deputies responded around 5 a.m. to a report of suspicious circumstances at the hospital.
A man driving from the passenger seat of the truck drove up to the hospital’s emergency room entrance and flagged hospital staff, who found another man unresponsive in the driver seat.
When the hospital staff finished getting the driver out of the car and into the emergency room, the man in the passenger seat got back into the truck and drove away, sheriff’s officials said.
