Bol Bol has found a new home.
The free agent center/forward and former Oregon Ducks star has agreed to a one-year deal with the Phoenix Suns, according to a report.
The 7-foot-2 Bol is coming off the best season of his career while playing for the Orlando Magic last season. Bol averaged 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 blocks in 21.5 minutes per game, all career-highs. He appeared in 70 games for Orlando, starting 33 of them, after playing in just 53 NBA games combined over his first three seasons in the league.
The Magic waived him on July 4.
Bol will likely serve as the backup to center DeAndre Ayton and forward Kevin Durant on the Suns’ frontline. Bol possesses a unique skillset for a player of his size – he can dribble, shoot from the perimeter and protect the rim.
Bol, 23, was a second-round pick (No. 44) by the Miami Heat in the 2019 NBA draft. The Heat traded his draft rights to the Denver Nuggets, where he spent his first three seasons. Bol was traded to the Magic in January 2022.
Bol is the son of former NBA player Manute Bol.
