If you’ve been wanting to get out of town, “Guy’s All-American Road Trip” continues its food-oriented journey through the Northwest on Friday. Episode 3 is titled “Sweet, Savory and High-Flying Adventure,” and sees Food Network personality Guy Fieri, his family, and a group of friends heading into Washington’s Cascade Mountains.
• You can watch “Guy’s All-American Road Trip” at 9 p.m. Friday, June 17, on the Food Network. You can also live stream the show, and other Food Network series, such as “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” on fubo TV, which offers a free trial; and on Philo, which also offers a free trial.
“Guy’s All-American Road Trip” is a limited series from Fieri, known as the host of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” Starting from the Fieri’s home base in Windsor, California, the host and his group have traveled up the West Coast, stopping to eat, compete in games, and soak in the local sights.
In last week’s episode, for example, Fieri and his group spent time in Florence, Oregon. They camped, played miniature golf, and rode Go Karts. Fieri’s sons, Hunter and Ryder, went to Novelli’s Crab & Seafood to load up on Dungeness crab, cod, and crab chowder.
While the Fieri sons were there, Novelli’s Crab and Seafood owner D.J. Reynolds told them that his mother and stepfather died a year ago, while they were crabbing. As local news outlets reported at the time, Kyle and Amber Novelli died in June, 2020, when their boat sank at Siuslaw River Bar.
In the episode, Reynolds was invited to join Fieri, his family and friends as the group ate dishes prepared from the crab and cod purchased from Novelli’s.
After the stop in Florence, the group was headed north, passing Portland, a “great food town,” as Fieri said. The Rose City has seen 27 of its eateries featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” The group continued past Portland, arriving at Chehalis, Washington, where rainy weather inspired “rainy day chili” creations.
The Friday, June 17 episode takes the group to Leavenworth, Washington, the Bavarian-inspired town in the Cascades. Here’s the description: “The Fieris continue their epic road trip as gingerbread house baking turns into a decorating showdown and a traditional Bavarian meal; plus, there’s a zipline adventure, campground curry, over-the-top-burgers and milkshake mania at a retro diner.”
“Guy’s All-American Road Trip” Episode 2 airs at 9 p.m. Friday, June 17 on Food Network.
