This week, a hot new bombshell enters the villa.
Or, if you’re not on TikTok, this summer there’s a whole new spot to see great music outdoors in the Portland area: Clackamas County Fairgrounds.
The venue in Canby isn’t exactly known for big name concerts but this summer, True West is setting out to change that.
According to Matt Manza, marketing and ticketing director for True West, the Pacific Northwest production company handled booking and marketing for the Wild Hare County Fest in 2022, which was held at the fairgrounds.
“We were inspired by the property and attendee experience and decided we want to do a weekend of shows out there,” Manza said. “It’s a cool space with lots of parking and is a similar distance to other outdoor concert experiences that serve the metro region.”
Those shows will consist of Social Distortion on Friday, June 30, Indigo Girls and Neko Case on Saturday, July 1, and Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit on July 2. All the shows begin at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets for the Indigo Girl and Jason Isbell are on sale now through Etix for $60.
Tickets for Social Distortion go on sale through Etix Friday, March 24, at 10 a.m. Tickets may also be available through StubHub and SeatGeek as well.
Tickets for Indigo Girls and Neko Case may also be available through StubHub and SeatGeek. Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit tickets can also be found through StubHub and SeatGeek.
According to Maza, the fairground will have room for 5,000 attendees per night.
“We are allowing folks to bring in low-profile lawn chairs and beach towels,” he said. “It’s a grassy lawn. There is plenty of standing room as well.”
The Indigo Girls and Jason Isbell both have shows scheduled this summer in Bend but, if you live in Portland, Canby is much closer. Though, why not go to both?
