New York Knicks’ forward Julius Randle will replace Anfernee Simons in the 3-point contest during the 2023 All-Star weekend, the league announced Thursday morning.
Simons, a guard with the Portland Trail Blazers, was forced to pull out of the competition after he suffered a sprained ankle during the team’s loss to the Washington Wizards on Monday. Simons rolled his ankle when he landed on Kyle Kuzma’s foot during the game.
Blazers’ guard Damian Lillard is also in the field along with Jayson Tatum, Kevin Huerter, Tyler Herro, Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and Lauri Markkanen. The contest is scheduled for Saturday in Salt Lake City, Utah.
