Oregon landed a second safety in its 2024 recruiting class.
Kingston Lopa, a four-star safety out of Grant Union High in Sacramento, committed to the Ducks on Sunday during his official visit to Eugene. He chose UO over Washington and was previously committed to Arizona, but decommitted in April.
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Lopa is ranked No. 359 overall and No. 33 among safeties in the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Lopa is the 17th commitment to Oregon’s 2024 recruiting class, joining fellow receivers Tyseer Demark, Jordan Anderson, Dillon Gresham and Jack Ressler, tight ends A.J. Pugliano and Jackson Ford, offensive linemen Fox Crader, Trent Ferguson and Devin Brooks, edge defender Jaxson Jones, safety Aaron Flowers, defensive linemen Tionne Gray and Xadavien Sims, cornerback Ify Obidegwu and quarterbacks Luke Moga and Michael Van Buren.
Oregon’s class moved up to from No. 6 to No. 5 in the 247Sports Composite.
