Marshfield sophomore Tiernan McCoy is currently at the intensive care unit in OHSU after suffering a serious neck injury at a wrestling tournament over the weekend. A slam to the mat broke McCoy’s neck, causing him to be unable to move his legs.
McCoy’s family has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for medical expenses and trips between Coos Bay and Portland.
In his sophomore season at Marshfield, McCoy finished sixth at the Class 4A Special District 3 district tournament, narrowly missing out on a trip to the state tournament.
