The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards are coming to the small screen tonight, Sunday, May 7 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on MTV, live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
• Don’t have cable? You can watch the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards live for FREE with Philo (free trial), with Fubo (free trial), on Sling (promotional offers), or with DirecTV Stream (free trial).
The event was initially slated to be hosted by actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore, who recently announced she would be stepping down in support of the Writers Guild of America writer’s strike. Barrymore will be back in 2024 to host next year’s event instead. Despite the strike, MTV has said that the show will go on, though it may look a little different than planned due to fewer attendees, production members, and striking writers.
