The northbound lanes of Interstate 405/Fremont Bridge will close for inspection work beginning 10 p.m. Monday, July 17.

Traffic will be diverted onto U.S. 30 westbound just prior to the bridge. Those who wish to continue northbound through Portland should take I-405 southbound to Interstate 5 and continue northward via that route.
Expect slower than usual traffic along U.S. 30 through northwest Portland as drivers navigate the detour. The work should be completed by 5 a.m. Friday, July 21.

The Lewis and Clark Bridge, which crosses the Columbia River between Rainier and Longview, closed 8 p.m. Sunday, July 16 and will remain closed for for up to eight days while crews make repairs to the bridge’s expansion joints.
During the closure crews will replace two of the bridge’s three expansion joints and a fractured floor beam. The Oregon Department of Transportation said in a recent release that the repairs are necessary to ensure the long-term life of the bridge.
Pedestrians, bicyclists and emergency vehicles will be able to cross the bridge except for a 10-hour period during replacement of the fractured floor beam when no traffic at all will be allowed. The floor beam replacement is expected to take place during the first few days of the closure.
