One of America’s oldest whiskey brands, Old Overholt entered a new chapter in 2020. Its core expression jumped from 80 to 86 proof; a new, 114-proof line launched; and all of the ryes in the lineup are now bottled without chill filtration. The latter factor played an important role in boosting quality, maintaining more complexity and texture in the final liquor. The now-unfiltered, four-year-old, 100-proof Bonded expression arrives with inviting herbaceous notes that weave seamlessly among a rich caramel core. Considering its proof, concentration, and price point, this is an absolute steal.
