Oregon’s first spring scrimmage featured some big plays for both the offense and defense.
Ty Thompson connected on a long throw, Traeshon Holden hauled in a touchdown and Kris Hutson scored inside the red zone and the Ducks offense was effective, relatively clean and able to drive in a couple of two-minute scenarios Saturday at Autzen Stadium. The defense also did well and came away with a fumble early on.
“Thought we ran the ball with some physicality,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. “On the day early, I think the defense was doing a really good job. We hit an explosive play, pass for a touchdown early on in the scrimmage, and then offense was able to convert on some red area opportunities down there. Both two minutes, offense was able to get it down to where they could kick a field goal for two-minute opportunities a win; we missed one of those. But all together, good day, good competitive day.”
