The Oregon State Beavers visit the No. 9 Stanford Cardinal Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game Pac-12 baseball series at Sunken Diamond.
(Read a weekend primer on the series here)
Stanford has won the first two games of the series, taking the opener 9-8 and the encore 8-5, to set up a chance for a rare series sweep. A win today would give the Cardinal their fourth series sweep over the Beavers since 1999, and first since 2010.
The Beavers have trailed by substantial margins in each of the first two meetings — 9-3 on Friday and 8-0 on Saturday — before using late-game rallies to make things interesting. OSU brought the tying run to the plate with one out in the ninth inning in both defeats, but was unable to complete either comeback.
