Oregon State sophomore Jade Carey added to her career awards haul Tuesday when she was named Pac-12 gymnast of the year.
Carey repeated as the conference’s top gymnast after winning the Pac-12 title in all-around Saturday in Utah. Carey also earned first-team honors in all-around, vault, beam, bars and floor.
Carey and UCLA’s Selena Harris were the only gymnasts to earn first-team honors in all-around and all four events.
Carey, who took fourth in all-around in the 2022 NCAA championships as a freshman, hit on each of her 46 routines this season, scoring 9.9 or better 40 times. Nationally, Carey ranks No. 1 in all-around and floor, second on beam and vault, and is tied for fourth on bars.
Earning honorable mention honors were Oregon State’s Madi Dagen (floor) and Sydney Gonzales (beam).
Other major Pac-12 award winners were Utah’s Maile O’Keefe as a specialist, Harris as the top freshman, and Arizona State’s Jay Santos as coach of the year.
Next up for Oregon State is the NCAA regional meet in Denver from March 30-April 2.
