Portland police have identified Jose Valentin Perez, 30, of Portland, as the man shot and killed on Mother’s Day in the Cully neighborhood.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 3:34 a.m. Sunday, May 14 in the 6500 block of Northeast Killingsworth Street. They found two men and one woman injured when they arrived. One of the men was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
A medical examiner determined Perez died from a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide, police said. It is the 34th or 35th homicide this year; it’s unclear what caused a man’s death on April 30.
