June does not seem aware – nor seem to care – that kids are getting out of school and summer is a little over two weeks away, because the spring 2022 mantra of “chance of showers” continues Sunday.
Northwest Oregon and the Portland area start out with showers and a possible thunderstorm – and get this, some small hail is even possible. The chance of precipitation is 100%. That’s not a typo.
The high is expected to be about 67 degrees, and the low after the sun — that we’ll probably never see — goes down is expected to drop down to 53 degrees and the chance of precipitation drops down to a magnanimous 80%.
Like April and May before it, June has offered up a consistent stream of gray spring wetness, and the week ahead looks to be no different, starting with Monday, which holds a 50% chance of showers.
The best chance for a clear day, according to the National Weather Service, is Tuesday, which is expected to be partly sunny with a high of 78. That leads into a “mostly cloudy” Wednesday.
Then for the rest of the week, rinse and repeat “chance of showers,” which is the order of the day from Thursday through Saturday, with highs in the 60s and 70s.
