The Portland Trail Blazers ended the second round of the NBA draft Thursday night by selecting Colorado forward Jabari Walker with the 57th pick following the completion of a trade that came earlier in the round.
The Blazers used the 36th pick to select 6-foot-7 forward Gabriele Procida out of Italy. However, Procida will ultimately land with the Detroit Pistons as part of the trade that sent forward Jerami Grant to the Blazers for the Milwaukee Bucks’ first-round pick in 2025.
In that deal, the Blazers swapped second-round picks with the Pistons giving Portland the 46th pick in the draft. The Pistons used that selection to take 6-foot-11 center Ismael Kamagate out of France.
However, it was reported during the draft that the 46th pick would ultimately go to Denver. Details of that deal were not available.
That move left the Blazers with only Walker out of the second round. Last season as a sophomore, Walker averaged 14.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game while shooting 51% from the field and 34.6% on threes.
Walker, named first-team All-Pac-12 last season, is the son of Samaki Walker, who played 10 years in the NBA (1996-2006).
In the first round, the Blazers selected Kentucky guard Shaedon Sharpe at No. 7.
