The Story Behind The Rosemary and Blood Orange Tequila Highball
In this variation, rosemary and blood orange take front and center as they redefine the classic highball cocktail. Ingredients
- 2 ounces blood orange juice
- 2 ounces PATRÓN Añejo
- 1 ounce rosemary simple syrup *see below for recipe & instructions
- ½ ounce lime juice
- Soda water to top (roughly 1 ½ ounces)
- Garnish: Rosemary sprig
Directions
- Fill a highball glass with ice and add blood orange juice, tequila, lime juice, and rosemary simple syrup.
- Top with soda.
- Stir and serve, garnished with a sprig of rosemary.

- ½ cup sugar
- 4 sprigs rosemary
Rosemary simple syrup Directions
- Combine water and sugar in a saucepan.
- Heat on medium and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat, add rosemary, then steep for 15 minutes.
- Strain and cool.
