Village Bourbon Vermont Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Review
This bourbon is notable from the get-go for using just corn and rye in the mashbill (60 percent of the former and 40 percent of the latter, both locally grown). The prominence of rye in that recipe translates to an intriguing nose, dominated not by herbaceous, spicy notes, but mentholated cherries. The rye spice then ignites the palate, working in tandem with enjoyable ABV and a rich caramel core. This is a leftfield option but a great craft whiskey.
