After a closely watched and at times divisive election season, voters in three suburban Portland school districts seemed poised to keep the status quo on their school boards.
In Gresham-Barlow, a slate of hopefuls backed by labor unions were failing to win a majority on the board while in Hillsboro and North Clackamas, candidates who were supported by more conservative-leaning organizations and called for more parental control over curriculum choices appeared to be losing their races, according to early returns.
