The United States ended Friday night on a huge streak to extend its medal count lead.
Michael Norman took the gold medal in the men’s 400 meters, while Sydney McLaughlin won the women’s 400-meter hurdles. Kara Winger took silver in the women’s javelin throw while Delilah Muhammad took bronze in the women’s 400-meter hurdles.
Shaunae Miller-Uibo got the Bahamas on the medal table with a gold medal in the women’s 400 meters.
Kimberly García León, who won Peru’s first world medal a week ago, took another gold in the women’s 35 kilometer race walk.
