Australia, Brazil, Great Britain and Slovenia each picked up their first gold medals of the 2022 World Athletics Championships on Tuesday night as the track and field championships hit the midway point of their 10-day run at Hayward Field in Eugene.
Meanwhile, the United States picked up two more medals on the track as Rai Benjamin took the silver and Trevor Bassitt the bronze in the men’s 400-meter hurdles. That gives the U.S. 18 medals — six golds, five silvers and seven bronzes — with five days of competition remaining.
It was Brazil’s Alison dos Santos who claimed the gold in the men’s 400 hurdles while world record-holder Karsten Warholm of Norway faded late and finished seventh.
Australia’s Eleanor Patterson won the gold in the women’s high jump, Great Britain’s Jake Wightman ran to a surprising gold in the men’s 1,500 meters and Slovenia’s Kristjan Ceh won the men’s discus.
Here’s a complete look at the Oregon22 medals table, as well as a look at who has won medals in individual events.
