Oregon baseball is losing one of its top relievers.
Rio Britton, one of only two left-handed pitchers on UO’s roster this season, announced he was going to transfer to NC State.
“First off, thank you to the entire staff at Oregon for allowing me to perform under a winning culture,” Britton wrote via Instagram. “I’d like to give a huge thanks to my family, friends, and fellow teammates for being alongside and supporting me throughout this journey. I am beyond excited to be joining the pack!”
Britton was 4-1 with a 3.20 ERA and 35 strikeouts over 39.1 innings with a .188 opponent batting average this season. He went 2-0 with a 4.86 ERA and 12 strikeouts over 16.2 innings in Pac-12 play.
The Ione, Calif. native had a 3.52 ERA with 18 strikeouts over 15.1 innings over 15 games in 2021.
