The competition has already been heated, but Wednesday’s “MasterChef” episode promises a “Trial by Fire.” In the episode, Portland home cook James Barfield and his fellow contestants will be called on to prepare a meal for 101 firefighters and emergency personnel.
(No cable or antenna? Stream “MasterChef” live on Fubo, which offers a free trial; or watch episodes the day after they air on Hulu, which also offers a free trial)
This season, subtitled, “United Tastes of America,” has featured teams from four regions of the country, the West, the South, the Northeast, and the Midwest. Though Barfield’s dishes have so far passed muster with host/judge Gordon Ramsay, and fellow judges Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich, the West team has, so far, at least, been considered not as strong as the other regions.
How will Barfield and his fellow West team members fare in tonight’s July 19 episode? We know that this will mark the first team challenge of the season, whatever that means. The cooks will be asked to grill “a delicious meal,” so the pressure will be on.
“MasterChef” airs at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 19 on Fox.
