Oregon women’s golf will play in an all-Pac-12 NCAA Championship match.
The No. 2 seed Ducks defeated No. 3 seed Texas A&M, 4-1-0, in a semifinal of match play Tuesday afternoon at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Oregon advances to face No. 1 Stanford for the national championship, starting at 1:35 p.m. PT Wednesday.
Ching-Tzu Chen trailed Blanca Fernandez Garcia-Poggio by 1 after four, won the fifth and sixth holes and carried the lead into the back nine and took a three-hole edge into the 16th before going on to win 2 and 1.
Briana Chacon took command quickly against Hailee Cooper. Chacon led by four holes at the turn and five after 10 and coasted to a 2 and 1 win as well.
Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen and Adela Cernousek went back and forth through the first 10 holes. The Aggie took the lead from there and hung on for a 1 up win.
UO’s Tze-Han (Heather) Lin and Jennie Park were even through 11, then Lin won the 12th and 16 to win 2 and 1.
Hsin-Yu Lu built a three-hole edge over Texas A&M’s Zoe Slaughter after seven and carried it through the 12th. Slaughter won the 13th and 14th to get within one, but Lu reopened the gap and won 3 and 2.
