Rain in the Portland area should hold off long enough Sunday for churchgoers to keep their Easter bonnets mostly dry.
The National Weather Service says there’s a 100% chance of rain for Portland on Sunday, but the precipitation will fall mostly after noon, giving kiddos across the region one last chance for dry Easter egg hunts. The high temperature Sunday is expected to be 56 degrees.
The weather service is urging caution Sunday into Monday, though, when the chance of precipitation is again 100% and total rainfall could reach 1 inch. Minor flooding along rivers and pooling on roads could create hazardous conditions.
Tuesday will bring showers, according to the weather service, and a break comes Wednesday when the chance of precipitation falls to 40%.
By Friday, the clouds will give way to sun, ushering in what could be a perfect spring day on Saturday, when the Portland area will see a mostly sunny day with a high near 64 degrees.
